CS5404

error Stopped: the script stopped answering and was shut down.

#What it means

The script stopped answering and was shut down. The time checks inside the script did not get a chance to stop it, so its worker was ended from outside.

#Typical cause

  • One single built-in call that takes extremely long, such as sorting or copying a huge collection many times.
  • Work that never reaches one of the script's regular checks.

#How to fix it

Look for the heaviest operation in the script and make it smaller or rarer. See Performance and Profiling. To run the script again without reloading the page, click Restart in its legend row. Time the page was not running (a background tab the browser paused, a computer asleep) does not count against a script.

#Example

It depends on the device and the chart, so no small script triggers it reliably.

  • CS5401 — Stopped: the script took too long (ms ms; the limit is max ms).
  • CS5402 — Stopped: one live update took too long (ms ms; the limit is max ms).

The ChartScript documentation is in English for now; translations will follow.
