Release notes

What changed in ChartScript, newest first, starting with ChartScript 1.0, the initial release.

What is new in ChartScript, newest first. Every script uses the //@chartscript 1 header; a new version never asks you to change it.

#2026-10-28: ChartScript 1.0, the initial release

The first public version of ChartScript, on every ChartDeck plan.

  • The language: variables, var, history, conditions, loops and functions, user types, methods and enums, maps and matrices, and the ta.*, math.*, str.*, array.* and color.* libraries. Its ta.ema and ta.rsi give exactly the same numbers as ChartDeck's built-in EMA and RSI. See User types, enums and methods and Libraries.
  • Plots and drawings: plots, fills, levels, shapes and backgrounds, plus labels, lines, boxes, tables and polylines. See Drawings.
  • Other timeframes and markets: request.tf, request.market, request.lower_tf and request.market_lower_tf. Give a request its own depth with calc_bars_count, the number of bars of its timeframe to load, for zones, pivots and running sums. A script without its own calc_bars_count runs on 5,000 bars, and your plan's bars per run is the most. See Other timeframes and markets.
  • ChartDeck data in scripts: open interest, funding, order flow on one exchange or all of them, trade prints, liquidation levels, volume at price and the economic calendar. See ChartDeck data, Trade prints, Volume at price and Economic calendar.
  • Footprints (Pro and Elite): the buy and sell volume at each price row inside a bar, the same data the Footprint chart draws, with fp.poc, the busiest buy and sell rows, the strongest delta rows and the Extremes readings, also on lower timeframes through request.lower_tf, for about the newest 10,000 bars of each timeframe. A reading aid, not a forecast. See Footprints.
  • The chart's Big trades and liquidations: flow.big_buy_usd, flow.big_sell_usd, flow.big_count and flow.big_trades() read the Big trades bubbles your chart draws; liq.long_liq_usd, liq.short_liq_usd and liq.events() (Pro and Elite) the liquidations the Liquidation candles mark, on each bar. See Trade prints and Liquidation data.
  • Settings your members can use: inputs arranged in tabs and sections, presets, a Colors tab and a Labels & text size. See Inputs and The settings dialog.
  • Its own history: a script runs on its own bars, 5,000 or its calc_bars_count, up to your plan's bars per run (2,000 on a phone), fetched for the script without making the chart load more. Scrolling back past the run shows bars without script values and never extends the run. Protected scripts and script alerts run on ChartDeck's servers on exactly the same bars, so an alert matches the chart. See Bars per run.
  • Bar replay: scripts keep running in replay and see only what was known at the replay time: the bars that had closed, other timeframes and markets, ChartDeck data, footprints, Big trades and the liquidation candles. Scripts that read trade prints, liquidation levels or volume at price pause. See Scripts in Bar replay.
  • The editor: live checking, quick fixes, preview on chart and version history. See Saving and versions.
  • Import scripts written in other charting script languages. See Migrating.
  • Publishing: public or invite-only, with open or protected source (protected scripts run on ChartDeck's servers), and the Community's Scripts tab to browse, like, comment on and add scripts. See Visibility and protection and Publishing and licenses.

The ChartScript documentation is in English for now; translations will follow.
