CS2015

hint name works here as hint, the ChartScript keyword with the same meaning.

#What it means

This is a hint for scripts in the earlier syntax, which read varip (the word other charting script languages use) as tickvar, its word for a variable kept between the updates of the live bar. Only scripts in the earlier syntax (saved before ChartScript moved to its current, brace-based syntax) can show it; the editor converts such a script to the current syntax when you open it, after which this cannot happen. In the current syntax that variable is live state, and varip is CS1050.

#Typical cause

  • A script in the earlier syntax that declares varip x = ... or varip int x = ....

#How to fix it

Nothing has to change: the script works as written. Opening it in the editor converts it, and varip becomes live state. See Variables.

#Example

In the earlier syntax

ChartScriptWarning: CS2015
//@chartscript 1
indicator("Updates")
varip int updates = 0
updates += 1
plot(updates)

Fixed (the current syntax)

ChartScriptOpen in editor
//@chartscript 1
indicator("Updates")
live state updates: int = 0
updates += 1
plot(updates)
  • CS1050 — name is not used in ChartScript: use hint.
  • CS2011 — name is not supported in ChartScript.
